Why Now?
As an Organising and Planning Consultant and a Social Prescribing Champion for NASP (National Academy for Social Prescribing, we've seen how organisation and wellbeing work hand in hand. When we have structure and clarity in our daily lives, we free up space - mentally and emotionally - to focus on what truly matters.
The Well-Organised Mind is a way to share that message more widely, offering small, manageable ideas that anyone can use to feel calmer, clearer, and more connected.
Our first edition launches this October, to coincide with World Mental Health Day (10th October). It’s a reminder that our mental wellbeing deserves as much care and attention as our schedules.
This month’s focus - A is for Assess - encourages readers to pause and reflect on what’s working, what’s not, and where to make small, intentional changes toward balance.

Many people underestimate how powerful a well-organised life can be. When daily routines run smoothly, stress levels drop, productivity soars, and there is more time to focus on what truly matters. At Organised For All, we help clients create personalised systems that fit their unique needs and lifestyles.
Whether it’s planning meals, managing schedules, or handling household admin, good organisation frees mental space. It also builds confidence - knowing everything has its place and tasks are manageable. From busy working mothers to small business owners, the benefits are the same: daily flow improves, overwhelm decreases, and wellbeing increases.
If feeling overwhelmed is a daily struggle, a simple planning and organising review could be the game changer. Let us help you reclaim your time and peace of mind through practical, effective solutions.
Organising Can Transform everyday stress into calm confidence!
Exercise 1: Daily Routine Reflection
Write down your current daily routine. Highlight any repeated pain points or bottlenecks. Identify one small change that could simplify a task or reduce stress.
Exercise 2: Task Prioritisation
List all your weekly tasks. Circle the top three priorities. Focus on completing these first before moving to less urgent tasks.

The master list method involves compiling all tasks, ideas, and commitments in one place (THINK ONE BIG TO DO LIST), then prioritising and breaking them down into actionable steps.
Organised For All teaches this method to clients seeking clarity and control.
This approach prevents overwhelm by keeping everything visible while allowing focus on what matters most each day.
The master list adapts flexibly as projects evolve, becoming a trusted tool for productivity.
A master list increases clarity and reduces overwhelm.
Exercise 1: Brain Dump
Write down every task, idea, or commitment on your mind.
Exercise 2: Prioritise
Circle top three priority items from your list.

Body doubling involves working alongside someone else, either physically or virtually, to increase accountability and reduce procrastination.
Organised For All recommends this technique for clients struggling to start or finish tasks.
The presence of another person provides gentle encouragement and helps maintain concentration. Body doubling can be especially effective for neurodivergent adults and parents balancing multiple demands.
Working alongside someone enhances concentration.
Exercise 1: Partner Task Session
Schedule a 20-minute virtual or in-person work session with a friend.
Exercise 2: Reflect
Note any changes in focus or output during the session.

Organising isn’t just about tidying physical spaces - it has profound benefits for mental health. Clutter and disorganisation can create a feeling of chaos that increases anxiety and stress. By introducing systems for managing daily tasks, paperwork, and important dates, Organised For All helps clients regain control and peace of mind.
When surroundings and schedules are clear, the brain can focus better, reducing overwhelm. Clients often report improved mood and reduced anxiety after establishing practical organising habits. Organising is an essential tool for supporting mental wellbeing in today’s busy world.
Organising is more than tidying - it’s a tool to reduce anxiety and improve mental wellbeing.
To experience this benefit, try these simple exercises:
Exercise 1: Quick Clutter Sweep
Set a timer for 10 minutes. Choose one small area like a desk corner, a drawer, or a shelf. During the time, quickly sort items into three piles: Keep, Donate/Sell, and Recycle/Trash. Don’t overthink—focus on clearing visible clutter. Notice how this short burst of organising affects your mood.
Exercise 2: Daily Task Mini-List
Every evening, write down just three small tasks to complete the next day. These can be simple, like “file paperwork,” “reply to two emails,” or “tidy kitchen.” Completing these tasks creates a sense of achievement and reduces the mental load of a long to-do list.
Exercise 3: Mindful Organising Moment
Choose one organising task, like folding laundry or sorting mail. Do it mindfully by focusing on the physical sensations—the texture, movement, and colours. This practice grounds you in the moment and blends mindfulness with productivity.
By integrating these small, manageable exercises, you can begin to harness organising for better mental clarity and emotional calm.

Feeling overwhelmed is common in fast-paced lives, but moving toward organisation is possible with small, intentional steps.
Organised For All recommends starting with identifying key stress points, decluttering one area, and writing a simple daily plan.
Celebrating small wins builds motivation and confidence to tackle the next challenge. Over time, these steps lead to sustainable systems that transform overwhelm into calm productivity.
Moving from overwhelm to organisation starts with small, manageable actions.
Exercise 1: Identify Overwhelm Triggers
Note the top two triggers of overwhelm in your life.
Exercise 2: Choose One Small Action
Pick one small organising act to do this week, like clearing your desk or planning tomorrow’s outfit.

Decluttering is more than a cleaning task - it’s a powerful way to improve emotional health. Holding onto unnecessary items can weigh on the mind and create hidden stress.
At Organised For All, we guide clients through mindful decluttering processes that respect their values and lifestyle.
Clearing clutter makes space for things that truly matter and sparks feelings of calm and clarity. It can also increase productivity and creativity by eliminating distractions. The results of decluttering often extend far beyond the physical environment.
Letting go clears physical and mental space.
Exercise 1: Collection Declutter
Choose one category, like books or clothing, and sort to keep, donate, or discard.
Exercise 2: Emotional Check-in
Note how decluttering made you feel immediately after.

Social prescribing is an innovative approach to health and wellbeing. Instead of just relying on medication, it connects people to community services and activities that support mental, emotional, and physical health.
At Organised For All, social prescribing is integral to our mission of holistic care.
Whether it’s joining a local exercise group, attending mindfulness sessions, or accessing creative workshops, social prescribing opens new doors to improve overall quality of life. It’s especially beneficial for people facing loneliness, stress, or managing long-term conditions.
If you or someone you care about is looking for ways to improve wellbeing beyond traditional healthcare, social prescribing might be the right solution.
We guide clients through the process of accessing these resources and integrating new activities into their routines for lasting positive change.
Exercises to Try:
Community Resource Mapping: List local groups or activities you know. Research one new group or activity to try in the next month.
Activity Integration: Choose one new activity and dedicate 30 minutes to it this week.

Let's explore how we can use WhatsApp to stay organised and make the most of some of the available features and tools in the app.
WhatsApp is one of the most popular communication platforms to use and one of our favourite apps to use. Most of us utilise WhatsApp for keeping in touch with family, friends, school, community activities or work.
In today’s fast-paced world, staying organised is essential. Did you know WhatsApp offers some very powerful and user friendly tools - to help streamline your daily activity?
With our Organised For All business services - we've found some great systems and solutions through using WhatsApp to keep connected and collaborate daily.
We wanted to share our tried and tested top tips, to help you enhance your productivity and organisation - using your WhatsApp, on either your phone or desktop app:
WhatsApp Custom Lists and Favourites
You can categorise your contacts into custom lists, such as 'family', 'friends' 'work' 'clients', 'school etc and even mark your key contacts as favourites - so they are easy to find, in your lists and this also helps you filter and prioritise conversations.
WhatsApp Pinned Chats or Messages
You can keep your most important chats at the top of your chat list, by 'pinning' them. Perfect for your most frequently used conversations, loved ones or even work projects. In addition to pinning a chat itself, you can also pin a message to the top of your conversation - which works great as self reminders or to do lists.
WhatsApp Self Messaging Notes
You can send messages and voice notes to yourself. Think of this feature as your very own digital notepad for quick reference, to jot down your ideas, to do lists, reminders, send photos or store files and links.
WhatsApp Message Drafts
If you start typing messages and but find yourself easily distracted - there is a great new feature, which saves unfinished messages (marked with a draft label), so this makes sure you never forget to send all those important messages.
WhatsApp Voting Polls and Task Lists
You can create and share voting polls in your chats, to make it easier to gather opinions, make decisions efficiently and agree on event dates etc.
Did you know you could also double up this feature as a task list option. Use the voting poll feature and customise your very own list - changing the poll options to your own 'to do' list tasks (so you can tick off tasks as you go). This feature works great as a personal list and for work/client collaboration. It's also a useful alternative for anyone who finds third party 'to do' lists apps challenging or difficult to navigate.
WhatsApp Event Management
Did you know there is an 'Events' feature that allows you to create and manage events directly in the app? You can track RSVSPs and receive reminders in group chats. This can make coordination seamless for you and attendees. Perfect for family or work events.
We Love WhatsApp
With all these excellent features and tools - WhatsApp can transform, from a simple messaging app into a powerful organisational tool.
Get in touch if you would like to learn more about our tips and tools for staying organised with WhatsApp and other digital tools.
